Success lessons we can learn from Usain Bolt Dear editor,
As promised, The Honourable Usain St Leo Bolt has solidified his status as a living legend, having won the 100 and 200 metres double in this year’s Rio Olympics. He also led the 4X100 men’s relay team to victory. Hard work does, indeed, bring success. We saw in various documentaries and videos where he trained to the point of nausea — not because he enjoyed it. On the contrary, Bolt hates training but he trained tirelessly, endlessly, everyday, for years, in order to achieve his goals.
There is a lesson here – success rarely comes without hard work and sheer determination. As the saying goes, ‘If you want good, yuh nose haffi run.’ We must exercise dedication, display patience and work towards our goals, even when we don’t feel like it. Perhaps then we too may become living legends in our own right, or at least accomplish all that we set out to do.
Well done, Usain!
